FAQs

   ABOUT CASHMERE
  • HOW IS CASHMERE PRODUCED?
Our cashmere wool comes from cashmere goats living in an extremely cold climate on the high plateaus surrounding the Gobi Desert of Mongolia. In the spring, when the goats start to shed their winter coat, they are gently hand combed to collect the soft cashmere. They ram freely and are taken care of by Mongolian nomadic herders for hundreds of years.

  • WHY MONGOLIAN CASHMERE QUALITY IS THE BEST IN THE WORLD?
Like Japanese technology, Chinese bone china and Italian craftsmanship, Mongolia is known for its exceptional quality cashmere around the world. The reason for such quality lies in its geographic location and nomadic lifestyle. With freezing -40°C winters and boiling +40°C summers, Mongolian goats experience truly extreme weather. This harsh weather is what makes them some of the world’s most robust goats who produce the lightest and warmest cashmere.

  • HOW MUCH CASHMERE IS PRODUCED BY ONE GOAT?
It takes about two to four years for a goat to produce enough wool to knit a cashmere sweater.
